ST. CLEMENT SCHOOL BOARD

2010-2011 SCHOOL YEAR

 

The St. Clement School Board acts in an advisory capacity to the pastor and principal.  Our Board brings together the education and administrative talents of the principal, the spiritual leadership of the pastor, and the experience, knowledge and insights of the laity in a collegial effort to create for the children of our parish a truly Christian educational community. The main functions are:

  • establishing the philosophy and goals for the educational programs,
  • interpreting and applying the policies of the Archdiocesan Board of Education,
  • formulating the additional policies which may be necessary,
  • evaluating the implementation of the policies
  • recommending to the Pastor the employment of the principal,
  • developing long-range planning and community relations.
  • designating/developing specific committees as the need arises. 

Although the school board wishes to assist the parents and the school in every possible way, it is strongly recommended that any questions or concerns be brought to the attention of the teachers or principal before approaching the School Board.  A synopsis of the School Board minutes will be posted on the website and noted on the newsletter.

FORMAT FOR MEETING


The Board meets regularly during the school year and all such meetings are open to interested parents and parishioners.  The meetings scheduled for this school year will take place in the St. Clement Library at 7:00 p.m. on:

Wednesday, August 17, 2011         
Wednesday, November 16, 2011 
Wednesday, February 8, 2012        
Wednesday, May 9, 2012

The general format of the school board meeting is as follows:

  • Call to Order.
  • Opening Prayer.
  • Approval of Minutes.
  • Open Session:  Items presented by visitors, which should be on the printed Agenda.  A brief response by the school board president. (Follow-up at a later date by the appropriate person).
  • Finance Report.
  • School Report.
  • Home and School Report.
  • Executive Session.
  • Adjournment.     

    (For items to be placed on the Open Session agenda, contact the School Board President prior to the scheduled meeting.)
